He completed his primary and secondary education in Kayseri and Ankara. He graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics and Istanbul Higher Teacher Training School in 1977. At Erciyes University; He worked as a lecturer (1983 - 1989), Assoc. Prof. Dr. (1989 - 1995), Assoc. Prof. Dr. (1995 - 2001), Prof. Dr. (2001-2020). He retired in May 2020. He served as department head, faculty board and administrative board member, director of the school, director of the Institute of Science, and Dean of the Faculty of Science. Prof. Dr. İlhan Öztürk, who works in the Department of Applied Mathematics, has articles in national and international journals and scientific papers in national-international congresses and symposiums. He took part in the scientific and organizing committees of many scientific symposiums and congresses. He currently serves as the Vice Rector of Cappadocia University.
