Dear Stakeholder,
This Clarification Text has been prepared for the purpose of informing real persons who
support the Mathematics Association (hereinafter referred to as the
“Association”) as donors, scholarship holders, volunteers, event participants,
cooperation partners or with other titles, regarding the principles and procedures
concerning the processing of personal data they have shared with the
Association, within the scope of the Law on Protection of Personal Data
No. 6698 (“KVKK”).
Data Controller
In accordance with KVKK, your personal data is processed by the Mathematics
Association as the Data Controller, within the scope explained below and in
compliance with the legislation.
The Mathematics Association takes necessary technical and administrative
measures to comply with all obligations imposed on it as a data controller under KVKK
and relevant secondary legislation.
Methods and Legal Reasons for Collection of Personal Data
Your personal data may be collected verbally, in writing, or electronically through:
- Association Headquarters and affiliated units,
- Website and online application forms,
- Email, telephone, SMS, and other electronic communication channels,
- Banks and payment systems,
- Events, training, scholarships, and donation processes.
Your personal data is processed based on the following legal grounds:
- Existence of your explicit consent,
- Clearly provided for in laws,
- Being directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract,
- To enable the Association to fulfill its legal obligations,
- Protection of legitimate interests.
Purposes of Processing Personal Data
Your collected personal data is processed in accordance with KVKK for the following
purposes:
- Carrying out donation, scholarship, education, research, project, and advocacy
activities,
- Managing donor and volunteer relations,
- Conducting information, appreciation, announcement, and promotional communications,
- Planning events, seminars, congresses, and training organizations,
- Conducting statistical studies for the development of Association activities,
- Fulfilling legal and administrative obligations.
Transfer of Personal Data
Your personal data may be transferred to the following parties solely in accordance with
relevant legislation and by taking necessary security measures:
- Authorized public institutions and organizations within the scope of legal
obligations,
- Banks, payment institutions, and financial consultancy service providers,
- Third parties from whom information technology infrastructure and software services
are received.
Rights of the Personal Data Owner
As a personal data owner under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to:
- Learn whether your personal data is processed,
- Request information if it has been processed,
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used appropriately,
- Know the third parties to whom it is transferred domestically or abroad,
- Request correction of incomplete or incorrectly processed data,
- Request deletion or destruction of data if the reasons requiring processing cease to
exist,
- Request notification of these operations to third parties,
- Object to the occurrence of a result against you due to analysis exclusively by
automated systems,
- Request compensation for damages in case of unlawful processing.
Commitments of the Association
As the data controller, the Mathematics Association commits to:
- Process personal data in accordance with the law and rules of honesty,
- Keep it accurate and up-to-date,
- Process it for specific, clear, and legitimate purposes,
- Act in connection with the purpose, limited and measured,
- Retain it for the necessary period,
- Take all necessary technical and administrative security measures for personal and
sensitive personal data,
- Respect the rights of personal data owners.

Applications will be concluded within the periods stipulated in the legislation. You can
